Bolivian Torch Cactus
€27.00 – €32.00Price range: €27.00 through €32.00
The “monstrous” Bolivian Torch (Echinopsis lageniformis) is a kind of cactus commonly known as the “Penis Plant.” The term “monstrose” denotes a mutant variant of the original cactus, in this case the Bolivian Torch. A mutant cactus develops into an irregular shape and may therefore take on a different form than other cacti of the same species.
Bolivian Torch ‘monstrose’ (Penis Plant)
The Bolivian torch cactus, or Achuma, also known as Trichocereus bridgesii, is a magnificent perennial, evergreen cactus that will leave you speechless! Friedrich and Rowley combined the genus Echinopsis in 1974, reclassifying Trichocereus bridgesii as Echinopsis lageniformis.Trichocereus bridgesii’ montrose’ is a mutant and uncommon cultivar.
This easy-to-care-for columnar cactus has a light green surface and grows quickly. This evergreen perennial cactus is guaranteed to dazzle and is ideal for even the busiest gardener. The spines are not simply plain brown but may vary in hue from honey-colored to brown, offering a splash of color!
This Bolivian torch may grow as tall as a tree and reach heights of up to 16 feet. If you’re fortunate, you could even see its big white night-blossoming blooms blooming in the summer!
But don’t get Echinopsis bridgesii mixed up with our favorite Bolivian Torch Cactus, ‘Trichocereus bridgesii’. Because it can be replicated by cuttings or seeds, this remarkable plant is simple to cultivate for any budding gardener, and its fruit is perfectly edible.
